Sense of smell vs. humidity

Does your sense of smell work better in low or high humidity?

I can’t find a cite but I know I read before that you can smell better when the humidity is high. The moisture helps the scents get to your scent glands.

Scent glands are in the armpit in humans, and the phrase can mean anal glands if one is a carnivore.

I’m hoping that we’re meaning olfactory cells, up in the nose. Otherwise, I’ve been doing it wrong all this time. I think you’re right about the reason that humidity makes smells seem stronger.

Yes, “scent glands” was the wrong term to use. My mistake.

I always think I smell better right after getting out of the shower.

In both ways you can read that sentence.
