Sequel to Sword and the Sorceror to be filmed (!!)

Soory, beowulf, but you ARE wrong.

By the Law of Starlet Nudity in Cheesy Movies, except for a favored few (like Sybil Danning), the main starlet never gets nekkid. I recall this with great clarity from my first viewing of this turkey. She’s not in that naked harem you see in the clip that’s linked to. There IS a scene where it appears that her rape is imminent, and a bad guy has her trapped in an alley, but just then Jorsely shows up and nonchalantly saves the day and prevents any nudity. it’s only the C- and D- listers who have to lose their clothes in these flicks.

But, but, Howardclassically…

***Holy flipping Cats! ***I was just bouncing around the forums when I saw this! A sequel to Sword and The sorceror! Thats a joke right?

I mean, i thought it was a stupid but fun to watch kinda thing when I was a kid for the same reasons Beowulf573 mentioned…the oiled Miss Beller. Who even remembers that movie except for a handful of people? (Ok, I actually own a DVD of it. I kind of collect bad movies as a hobby)

He’s not really that wrong. there is a scene where Bellar is being oiled up and she is supposedly nude…but angled in a way you don’t see any boobies or you know…you just get enough to know she’s oiled, naked and hot looking.

Its scary to think that I remember that scene…boy, i was a pathetically lonely teenager…

So apparently the 53-year-old Lee Horsley is father to the 51-year-old Christopher Lambert (if I read the linked article correctly). Well, that’s Hollywood magic.

Ah, the early 80s. Gathered around Conan the Barbarian like lesser spawn are lots of low-budget, lesser-known sword-and-sorcery movies. And I saw them, every one. Couldn’t help myself.

So when do we get a sequel to Hawk the Slayer?

(In the same period, the success of Alien spawned numerous low-budget knockoffs featuring slimy, fangy, grabby things in dark, grubby places, attacking maladjusted halfwits.)

ETA: Deathstalker IV isn’t gonna make itself, people!

Deathstalker IV: Match of Titans

The rest of the series. My gosh. How on earth did a film as bad as Deathstalker manage to spawn 3 sequels?

I remember seeing Sword and the Sorceror at the theatre. I had forgotten all about it until reading this thread. Wow.

I remember reading an editorial by Gary Gygax in Dragon back at the time, where he made it quite clear that Sword and the Sorceror was, in his eyes, much better than Conan the Barbarian.

I still feel weird about that.

Still, let’s hope it’s a hit, so we can move on to the Beastmaster remake!

Um, 'cause it wasn’t really bad? In fact it was very good in delivering the cheese of sword and sorcery movies. Magical sword, super-macho hero, hot babes and tons and tons of fighting. The people who made Deathstalker knew what they were doing. The sequels are a different story.

I seem to recall that he didn't like either one very much (of course the years may have addled my recollection).

Still, I look on the first movie with a certain fondness. For someone who actually understands swords better than the average 21st century inhabitant, the sword of the title is comedy gold! Hopefully the sequel will cause one of the cheap knock off houses to produce a wall hanging replica.

Maybe there’s hope for Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League yet.
I hope so.
It’s about damn time.

Boy, this thread;'s got legs. I thought it’d die within a day or two, but it keeps going and going and going…
