Hey ArchiveGuy, I never watch Sci-Fi either, but have friends who had me watch a couple of episodes without telling me that it could be classified as Sci-Fi. I was hooked, purchased the DVD set and became addicted. It’s really unlike any other series - any genre - that I’ve ever seen.
Oh - and to get back on topic: cool trailer.

ArchiveGuy, let me echo what the others have said: try showing it to your wife without telling her it’s sci-fi (okay, this may be tough if you’re watching it on Sci-Fi). My friend and I ran weekly showings in our dorm last year, and there were usually more girls than guys watching it on any given week. I’ve never seen an ostensibly “geeky” show more thoroughly embraced by the fairer sex in my life.
I just saw the new trailer and I feel like Beavis and Butt-head when they got those stacks of porno magazines. This trailer blows the previous one away.
I just looked at the trailer again. Now I see that
the ships are LEAVING Earth; so it’s likely a flashback. Oh well.
Sorry, as soon as she sees a spaceship, she’s out of there. There are plenty of things I know I’d rather have her see given her limited time anyway (no offense).
But that won’t stop me from trying to do a crash course (she’ll be on a business trip for a couple of weeks, so that might help).
Aaaaaaaand the new US Serenity trailer is now online in glorious Quicktime. Seems to be equal parts the original trailer plus the international trailer, with some very pretty new stuff thrown in. Like the international trailer, it emphasizes the humor of the 'verse more than the action-heavy original trailer (something they should’ve done from the start, IMO). Check it out.
Foo. I’ve never been able to get quicktime to work right. I went to serenitymovie.com hoping it was up there, but the trailer they have listed as “Trailer 2” is the same old US trailer. I’m all jealous. I don’t know why, considering I’m already seen the movie, but I wanna see the new trailer too!
