Series that were done in their namesake areas

Detroit 187

Beverly Hills, 90210

The Streets of San Francisco, was filmed entirely on the streets of San Francisco. And after season 1, all interior scenes were shot in a SF studio.

That’s mentioned in the OP.

Was Hill Street Blues shot on Hill Street?

3rd Rock from the Sun:D

In the uk almost all stage actors have appeared in ‘the bill’ at some point in their careers.

Chicago Code

However Vegas, Las Vegas, and CSI: Las Vegas were not.

I also agree that **bmasters1 **did not know that.
mmm

Cosmos.

The current Dallas series has more of its principal photography shot in Dallas than the original.

Rome was actually filmed mostly in Rome, even if there was a 2000-year gap between the events in the story and the filming. The high cost of creating the indoor and outdoor sets at the Cinecitta studios helped bring what was supposed to have been a 5-year series to a premature end.

Luscious and Tight-Ass, I miss you!

Huh? I was fairly certain it was shot in Malta?

Anyway Tvtropes is your friend.

I remember some scenes being filmed in Burlingame about 20 miles south of the city.

Score!

Isn’t that the opposite of what the OP is asking? Looking for shows shot in their namesake location, not supposed locations with obvious geographic flaws.

I’m starting to worry that I don’t understand what namesake means.
