A Netflix show we just finished: Sirens, a ‘limited’ series. At just 5 episodes, it’s a pretty quick watch. Described as a ‘dark comedy’ with Kevin Bacon and Julienne Moore as a rich society couple. They’re vacationing at their Summer mansion on an unspecified East Coast island. Moore’s character employs a young woman as an assistant, and her older sister unexpectedly shows up, concerned her little sis is in the grip of some cultlike influence from Moore’s character. Hijinks ensue.
Decent watch. Wasn’t sure quite where the show was going until the final episode-- in addition to the dark comedy, it has elements of mystery, subtle metaphors from Greek mythology (hence the title) and even tiny hints of possible supernatural influences.
