If I find a product, I don’t care where it’s made, or purchased. Or cost. The cheaper the better. Bargain bin, and I’m ecstatic.
The only game in my little village is Dollar General. I’m not real fond of the ambience in the place (that flickering florescent is off putting). The smell is not my favorite.
I can take it in long enough to wander around.
I found a brand of women’s capris and leggings.
Bobbie Brooks.
Look, for around $7.
I’m thinking these are really soft. I can use some squishy softness in my life. Oh my. Cute colors and patterns. And a good black. Doesn’t look like it would pill. Would go over my devices well. And pockets! What’s that you say? Yes pockets. I know. I’ve found the holy grail. Right?
I have a $5 coupon. Bought 2 pair. One Capri length. One long. And they are long enough. Which was another panacea I’ve found.
I’ve worn the long ones a couple times. They wash up great. They are soft as pj pants but look decent enough to go in somewhere.
Not one thing I can find that is discouraging about them, yet. Gonna buy more.
I used to go to Dollar General, but soon learned that you get what you pay for. If you are okay with their lack of quality, that’s great, but I grew tired of everything I bought being the lowest quality of any store around. YMMV.
I can’t buy pants without trying them on. Since I don’t wear capris often I might be tempted to try a pair if they looked like they might work if I found them at Dollar General.
I found a sale today at a local St. Vincent DePaul thrift store. Women’s tops were 25 cents. My wardrobe is always in need of updating so I bought 4 very nice short sleeve tops. Two were Tommy Hilfiger.
I HATE to shop for various reasons but money is not a concern. Finding something that works without having to stay too long in a store is my ultimate goal. Therefore I do find myself going more frequently to Family Dollar and Dollar General for a good portion of my needs.
If it works for you it’s a Win!
Also - I bought a black hoodie from Family Dollar 15 years ago and I still wear it regularly. I had to tack up the pocket edges this year but it’s still fine!
I go to Dollar General to buy things for the food pantry. They have $1 samples of laundry and dish detergent, and 3- and 4-packs of diapers (and the Bluey ones have $3 coupons in them). They also have shrinkwrapped salt and pepper shakers for $1, and their blood orange sparkling water is the best sparkling water I’ve ever tasted. A lot of other people seem to think so too, because I can seldom find it, especially at this time of the year. I stock up if I find any.
A store like Dollar General admittedly does sell some low-quality merchandise. But obviously they sometimes get deals on large lots of better-quality stuff. A savvy consumer who can tell the difference, can get some real bargains!
I’ve never seen clothes at our local $1.25 store, but I find great stuff. Most of it is kitchen or laundry related. I absolutely love going thrifting though. I’ve found great stuff. My daughter told me a couple of weeks ago she really liked my top and asked where I got it. I told her a local thrift store. She loves thrifting too, she wanted to go today, but she got too busy.
I once saw kids’ swimsuits at the Dollar Tree, but those things looked like they would come apart in a stiff breeze. Those cheapo flipflops? I’ve seen those, and that makes sense.
The most surprising thing I’ve ever seen at a dollar store was bras. I was beyond shocked. Nowhere near my size of course, but the bands and hooks alone were cheap at the price so I bought a couple to cannibalize for parts.
