How many pages do I need to dig into that site before I find the page where that check box is? It’s not anywhere on the first form (where I enter the same information that I would enter on the paper form). I followed it for several pages and still didn’t see it, so I gave up. (I’m not going to follow the request the whole way because I don’t want a report right now. I just got one last week.)
It looks like they want you to jump through hoops to get your score. From their FAQ:
It’s a box you tick just before they give you the free report when the free report opens from the credit bureau’s website. W/o the hoops, you can’t buy your score via the free report site annualcreditreport.com. Or you can sign up for one of the ‘free’ credit report sites that charge a membership/monthly monitoring fee and your score is included in the price (or was when I did it in 2005).
Since you only got a report last week, I wonder if you can go back to that bureau’s website and order your score?
