From this link, they also banned breath play, deep throat, age play, rape play.
What is unclear to me is the following :
So, porn not following these rules won’t be illegal to possess and watch, but it will be illegal to sell it in the UK (online or in sex shops)? That’s correct?
I’m not sure which disturbs me more. Censorship for puritanical reasons or Censorship for political correctness. No mild sex play like spanking, ropes, or other harmless bedroom games enjoyed by consenting adults.
Please save us from the well meaning people in the world that think they know whats best for us.
1903 – In New York on 21 February 1903, New York police conducted the first United States recorded raid on a gay bathhouse, the Ariston Hotel Baths. 26 men were arrested and 12 brought to trial on sodomy charges; 7 men received sentences ranging from 4 to 20 years in prison.
20 years seems quite heavy.
For some reason, when it comes to sex, a large segment (I would guess, in fact, the majority) of the population somehow feels entitled to tell us what we should or should not do in the privacy of our homes, and think that it’s open to public debate. I find this attitude outrageously preposterous, but it’s not exactly a novelty (and regarding kinks, radical feminists are significantly worst and more active than religious types, who are too busy fighting rear-guard battles against premarital sex and such things)
Thinking about dangerous uses of ropes, I expect they’ll also ban videos about alpinism and sailing. A significant number of people, encouraged by the positive view of these activities depicted in this nefarious material, die every year drowned or falling to their death. This has to stop.
(Sorry, quote function fubar again - manual quoting)
You didn’t read that for context. Supposedly Jolly Old issued anti-homosexuality laws that only applied to men, because Victoria or one of the PMs didn’t believe there was any such thing as female homosexuality. It’s probably apocryphal - but my comment was not that England was somehow unusual in putting anti-homosexual laws with outrageous penalties on the books. Most countries have, at one time or another.
