Sexiest non-sex scene since the sixties

I don’t care for the book or the movie of *The Age of Innocence, but there’s a bit where they’re in a carriage and he’s unbuttoning her glove and touching her wrist and it. is. hot.

In The Lion King, after Simba and Nala have reunited, they’re playing around and wrestling and laughing. At one point, Simba’s on top of Nala when all of a sudden she gives him the FMN look that Zebra was talking about. I was amazed.

Then there’s the shot of the train going into the tunnel at the end of North by Northwest, but that was 1959.

You might want to put the dividing line at post-1966 movies, because that was the year that the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) dropped all remaining restirctions on what could be portrayed in movies that got its seal. In 1968, the MPAA began the letter ratings (G, M, R, X).

(Note: only the major Hollywood studios were members of the MPAA. Foreign and independent movies were not required to follow those MPAA guidelines, unless the foreign or independent picture was distributed in the U.S. by one of the major studios.)

I’d like to nominate the armouring scene from Last Samurai .

It was dead sexy…with no sex.

I’ve always really liked the scene in Amelie where she’s on the carnival ride, and Nino is behind her in the skeleton costume, moaning in her ear and occasionally touching her hair or her neck.

There’s also a really nice moment in Chocolat, when Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp are dancing. It’s just the look on his face.

There’s a food scene in Tampopo

I’m kinda ambivalent about the scenes in Dirty Dancing. They were not sex … or WERE they?

I am laughing so hard I can’t hardly breathe! Oh my god, I’ve got to rent the movie again.

The Lion King? Sexy?!

I can’t contribute, sorry. Maybe I’ll think of something later when images of various Disney cartoon characters madly in lust with each other leave my head.

There’s a difference between “sexy” and “revolting”. :dubious:

The “rolling dough” scene in Godfather III between Andy Garcia and the gorgeous Sofia Coppol----HA! Gotcha Ya!

Seriously, the scene in the original Godfather where Michael and Appolonia are on their wedding night, and Appolonia slowly removes her nightgown, revealing her breasts to him for the first time. The look on her face…yowza.

Or if I may nominate a TV show - there was one episode in The Shield where a woman was hired to snoop on Vic’s team, and at the end of the episode she shows up in Vic’s hotel room, and they aggresively kiss, then he violently throws her on the bed caveman-style and slams the door on the camera looking in, right at the end of the episode. Hot.

Wait, you’re saying that Juliette Binoche isn’t Audrey Tatou? She’s still Julia Ormond though, isn’t she?

There’s a scene near the beginning of **Picnic at Hanging Rock ** where Sara and Miranda are reading poetry to one another. The look on the enraptured Sara’s face as she gazes at her object of desire…talk about FMN!

Oh what a sex scene those three and a Zebra could make though.

I opened the thread solely to mention Thompson and Hopkins in “Remains of the Day” and Sampiro steals it away with the third post of the thread.

Actually that one bothers me.
It’s not sexy. At least I don’t find rape sexy.

She violates him. He has this one private thing, this one little thing he wants to keep for himself and she comes in and rips it from his hand, against his will.

I didn’t find that scene sexy at all.

Pish-posh. Watch the scene again. Look at the way Hopkins’ eyes gaze at Thompson while she wrestles the book out of his hands and tell me that isn’t a look of lovelustadorationworship. BTW, interesting definition of rape there, but there are other forums for that discussion.

Catherine Zeta Jones with Antonio Banderas in The Mask of Zorro when they dance The Dance.

And I found the whole embrace of Louis in the cemetery scene from Interview with a Vampire terribly erotic.

I nominate Geena Davis in The Fly. Jeff Goldblum’s character asks her for something he can teleport so she hikes up her leather skirt and takes one of her stockings off!

Also noteworthy and also involving a leather skirt was a scene in some Nicholas Cage movie I can’t remember the name of… he was a helicopter pilot. He finally gets to go on a date with the hot chick (Sean Young?) he’s been lusting for and she shows up in a tight black leather skirt and a low cut top… they take off to go to some mountainside retreat. By the time they get there, she’s wearing a totally different outfit! :dubious:

The locked in the car boot scene with George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez in Out of Sight. Oh, and I’ll throw in Pierce Brosnan dancing with Rene Russo in the remade The Thomas Crown Affair {far better than Entrapment, which came out at the same time, and unlike Sean Connery/Catherine Zeta Jones, the two were the right age for each other}.

Of course, both scenes eventually led to sex, but great foreplay.

I remember seeing Uma Thurman in Baron Munchausen, when it first came out - it was her first screen role, and she was only 17 when it was filmed: I wasn’t much older at the time, and I remember thinking “Damn, she is hot!” Who knew she could act too?

The movie with Cage and Young was Fire Birds 1990.

The babe washing the car in Cool Hand Luke; the mens’ reactions make the scene even hotter.
