SF magazines in my attic!

Oops, just noticed this is a Zombie, Hopefully they let it stay open as nothing bad in it. If you tell us more about the mags, it could be considered a vital update.

Lynn, did you open that used book store? When I retire I want to open a used book store, but I am a book nut.

My maternal Grandfather subscribed to Astounding Science Fiction magazine (I think… the original and most famous pulp SF magazine) from the 1930’s until his death in 1990 or so, and the entire complete run will be mine someday! Muahahahahaha!

(That’s what I get for being the only grandson! Ha! I have faced my sister and 3 female cousins!)

Say, if Heinlein wrote essays (other than those in Expanded Universe), why has nobody published a collection of them? I’m sure it would sell!

Their was another set publish posthumously.
**Grumbles from the Grave (1989) ** This one was excellent.
Also Non-fiction.
Take Back Your Government: A Practical Handbook for the Private Citizen (1992)
Tramp Royale (1992) (Includes his visit to the Soviet Union in the 50’s.

Heh. I got Asimov to autograph the issue of Galaxy in which The Martian Way was published - with his name misspelled. He was still pissed 20 years later.

Let me look up the essay and see if it is in Expanded Universe. I’m not sure I have grumbles.

Not quite the original - that would be the Gernsback Amazing from 1926. Astounding began in 1930, died for a while, then got revived under Street & Smith.

I’d suspect the original Astoundings would be worth a pretty penny.
