SHAKES the CLOWN anyone?

am I the only one who loves this movie? I like the new universe it is set in(3 types of beings: humans, clowns, and mimes). reminds me of Streets of Fire, Bladerunner, and Brazil.

can’t ever find it anymore?

Ah, the ‘Citizen Kane of Drunken Clown Films’. Clever ( twisted ) concept and some good moments, but it dragged badly at times. Neither as bad as it sounds ( well, it is - but in a good way  ), nor as clever as it might have been. IMHO anyway.

But as I am one of the myriads with clown-phobia, it did have some resonance with me  .

Binky the doormat…

loved that movie!

Were you wanting to buy it?

Florence Henderson was brilliant in that film.

in some movies you run into a character that is just perfect and cant imagine them in anything else (jay and bob come to mind). binky was this character for me.

now I have got to go buy it. its only on VHS though. boo. I wanted to stick to DVDs. Oh well.

bob was good.

his sidekicks were ok. (saldler and whoever) i thought they were the weakest part of the movie. but binky’s sidekicks were great.

binky was the man.

the cops were good.

the rodeo clowns were good.
I thought you loved “lady of spain”?

the fat old clown who got fired from tv.
mr. cheese (shakes boss)

whats her face from Sanford & Son
Julie
florence
robin williams

a whole bunch of little skits that are good. it did drag a little at times but I think they were trying to create a mood and just not have a bunch of skits. but overall it was creative and funny. pretty unique I must say.

what I like about the movie ,beside the altered universe, is the things going on in the background that you dont notice when you are following the story line.

Gotta love “Marty Fromage” as Mime Jerry.

And who can forget Aunt Esther saying, “soon as that show’s over, he gonna f**k that dog.”

It is on DVD.

Any film that features Uncle Miltie calling someone a “dogfucker” is alright in my book.

And I’ll never quite forget the “peanut butter pussy” line.

I know I thoroughly enjoyed it – I especially liked the parody of show biz (specifically, comedian) professional life. Plus Florence Henderson as a slut in torn fishnets!

You keep forgetting the milkman! And I own it on DVD.

Everyone forgets that Adam Sandler was in it too…
