Thanks.
I love you guys.
Bump…to keep this thread current.
Lets help guys.
I hope it all works out. I’ve always admired your posts. Glad to help.
Donated, and best wishes!
If anyone wants to ask me anything about the situation, feel free. I’ll answer honestly, and as best as I can.
It’s too bad that they wouldn’t let you take any pictures of the accident! One insurance company we had 25 years ago, before cellphone cameras, would give out disposable cameras to keep in the glove compartment, marked “use this to take pictures if you’re in an accident”.
And it sounds like you already have the stress of finding caregivers for your son. Do you have reliable people?
We have people we like he has out grown the needs of, and people he loves, but they can’t schedule a lot of time with him.
He is 18, but he has mild autism. He doesn’t like to be left alone, and right now, finding people to stay with him is even a challenge, but what we really need is a res-based hab program to get him comfortable with being alone.
He is capable of preparing meals for himself, and even for the whole family-- he can read a recipe and make simple things as well, and took a cooking class in school. He gets himself ready in the mornings, and will come home to an empty house as long as he doesn’t have to be there long, and whoever is coming home next isn’t late-- he can work up a good panic if someone is late.
He needs to be taught how to handle emergencies, and have a lot of dry runs through fictional emergencies, until he develops the confidence to handle one on his own.
That’s what we are having trouble getting.
I want to thank everyone one more time. I’m at 84% of my goal!
