I wasn’t attacked.
But.
When I was about 10, my friend Jeff and I were over at another friends house who had a large ( to a 10 year old) Huskie.
This dog never bothered us or was bothered by us in all our playings there.
Until one day our friend had to go inside to eat and we were allowed to play outside in her yard as along as we left the dog alone while she ate.
So I did.
But Jeff didn’t.
He pestered, teased and annoyed this dog.
the dog gave fair warning with grunts and eventually growls of agitation, before just snapping and going after Jeff. This was his/her food that was at stake and one very annoying kid.
The last memory I have of Jeff as I scaled a fence in record time was of that 100 plus pound dog all over him.
I ran around the block to Jeff’s mom screaming incoherently about the attack ( think spongebob’s babbling) and a short while later Jeff was driven up by the dog’s owner, bathtowel on head saturated in blood.
In all I think he got 75 stitches on his head. Never affected his looks, he was (last I saw him) very handsome.
The dog had to be put down and I always thought that wasn’t right, can’t blame the dog for the spaztic behavior of an 8 or 9 year old.
Lesson learned: Leave the dog’s food alone.
