Oh, and The Potato Hunter
Woot! I get to be the first to post Terminus!
I’m a huge fan of animation in general, so of course I know and love Ryan Larkin’s Walking and Street Musique. (I have both these films on my iPad.)
But I also love the film that another animator, Chris Landreth, made about their friendship & the demons that plague them both, Ryan.
Another short film that I keep on my iPhone and iPad at all times (because it’s simply one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen) is Billy’s Balloon by Don Hertzfeldt.
What? You said short.
God of Love (link is just the trailer), which won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short in 2011. I saw it as part of the Academy Award Nominee Short Films that will show together. I liked it so much … that I didn’t have a chance of winning the award. I was happy when it did. It’s perfect.
Seconded. Also written by and featuring Walton Goggins, from The Shield and Justified. I still think about this one occasionally.
Tango (mildy NSFW)
You are an Academy Award-nominated filmmaker?
Cool !!!
That’s your favorite? :dubious:
On an absolute scale, of course not. But measured per-second, it scores pretty well. Mainly it was a way to link to 5 Second Films, which has given me many a cheap laugh.
Regards,
Shodan
I was going to say I left out a crucial “I didn’t think it had a chance”, but looking at that, I’m not sure what I was writing. That’s what I get for giving my proofreader the night off. I am not the maker of the short. (I’m pretty sure you’re joking, but my typo requires me to clarify.)
Loved it!
In fact I was quite serious. It read that way !!
“The important thing now is we find their son… Duke? And make sure he’s ok.”
Some french director/producer did a take on W Somerset Maughm’s The Razors Edge years and Years ago I found simply gorgeous. But as to who it was and when I do not know, sorry:confused:. Perhap one yall can help a gal out?
(Despite the claim on the title card, a bit of trickery apparently was employed, but I still like it anyway.)
I don’t think I’ve seen any ‘short films’, though I read about them and how they get awards and such. Where do you find ‘short films’?
All excellent, especially the last. (BTW, for those who don’t already know, La Jetée was the inspiration for the full-length movie, Twelve Monkeys.)
How short is “short?” Is 33 minutes a “short” film? If so, then I’ll add The Norman Rockwell Code.
