Sharpening Single Edge Blade

I have a mandolin slicer with a single edged blade. I have been sharpening it with my Spydeco Sharp Maker. It’s much better, but I get a wire edge. Should I grind the non-beveled side flat on a stone to get rid of that or is there a better way (steel, strop, …)?

I was going to try to describe how to do this, but it may be easier to look at the Sharpmaker’s instructions (PDF copy here) and take a look at how to deburr a chisel or plane blade - these are two woodworking tools that have a one-sided edge where a wire would be detrimental.

Thanks
