Normally I use an electric shaver to save time, but those darned things just don’t shave neck hair! So I have to use a handheld razor. I shave my face no problem, but the skin on my neck gets irritated. I use a good clean razor, shaving cream and aftershave. But hours after shaving, little red bumps appear all over my neck and sometimes they develop into whiteheads. What am I doing wrong? I shave very carefully, I thought that my skin would toughen up, but I really doubt it. Any tips?
I have the same problem when shaving my neck with a handheld razor, however, I have no problem at all when the barber uses the straight edge on it. Once in a while I’ll still ushave the back of my neck on my own; I use an electric moustache and beard trimmer; it works pretty good. Perhaps you just need to by a better electric shaver? BTW, I’m sure some people will chime in soon telling you to try various creams and lotions. Been there done that; they don’t work for shit.
I had the same problem, but then I dropped the money on a Braun Syncro razor with the cleaning base.
Easily the best razor I’ve ever used (I’ve tried several Remmingtons and Norelcos) and it leaves me with almost zero irritation.
