I hate to bring this up because of all the positive energy the original post inspired. But I gotta be honest.
When we met the next day, her first words were the classic “we need to talk.”
It seems there’s this guy who’s been a platonic friend of hers for many years. Just recently, he started leaning in the romantic direction towards her. She’s not sure how she feels about it…but she isn’t ruling it out, either. Anyway, she said she’d better make up her mind about him before we go any further. I agreed.
It was crushing at first, but I respect her honesty. We’ll just see what happens next. If nothing else, I think we can still be friends.
And even if we go our separate ways…well, I got a helluva kiss out of the deal. And after 2 years of drought, I feel ALIVE again!
