I assume the defense will make a strong case for mental illness. No sane person would mutilate themselves to support an elaborate lie. Sherri is so delusional that it’s not possible for her to see her own lies. She’s living a lie every day.
Right. Tell us again your credentials for making this kind of judgment about someone you’ve never met, and about the general behavior of liars? You are an expert, right? Because you certainly write as if you think you are.

Investigators also interviewed several of PAPINI’s friends. These friends described PAPINI as being crazy and wild as a youth. The friends recounted that PAPINI used to run away and one described an incident in which PAPINI ran away from home at age 16 to Southern California and stayed with friends. Multiple friends also stated that PAPINI would make up lies, particularly about being the victim of abuse, especially as a youth.
A number of murderers including Diane Downs have shot themselves in order to set up alibis for killing loved ones. Charles Stuart shot and wounded himself severely in the abdomen and required six hours of surgery. Lesser cases of self-harm to falsely accuse others exist, i.e. Tawana Brawley.
People go to considerable lengths to get away with crimes/misbehavior and hurt themselves, without being “delusional”, unless you consider them deluded for thinking they can get away with it.
But maybe Papini should be off the hook now, because, y’know, Trump. 
I don’t think @aceplace57 is making this kind of judgement. I think he’s saying that that’s the argument her defense lawyers will make.
Yes. I think the defense will get Sherri examined by doctors and use that at trial.
