I really am not trying to be argumentative, but I meant what I said.
If you work in an industry of educated people (do you?), you can forget that there are people who are almost staggeringly ignorant. I’m here to tell you as a teacher that there are quite a number of people who wouldn’t be able to put a firm definition on “Protestant”, and would certainly never think to use it. Some of these people are even Christian themselves. It’s not a word that comes up without someone trying to make some kind of historical point. I’ve been raised completely in the American Protestant church, and the word hardly ever gets mentioned.
