There used to be the Montreal Mirror. One of my kids brought it home one day and I glanced at it and noticed an odd column called “The Straight Dope” by Cece. After that I was sure to pick it up every week. Until one day in the 90s when they dropped it. A few years after that it folded. In the meantime, I searched the web for it and, about 25 years ago, guess what I found.
Such a nice tale.
Sad about the paper.
I love a newspaper subscribe to 3. Although the regional rag is soon to go. I can’t seem to get a paper delivered properly. I’m far out and on a sketchy looking road and I highly doubt there more than 3 subscribers out here. So I started having it mailed, for a higher cost and it’s not reliable. So it’s gonna have to go.
I’ve enjoyed it for years. ![]()
I do too. Our paper went from 7 days a week to 2 about 5 years ago. It’s mailed instead of delivered by a “paperboy”. There is a daily online version, but I don’t read it. I like the Sunday (now the Saturday) crossword puzzles, and I like reading the paper while I eat my breakfast on the weekend. I’d really miss it, but for the price I’m paying, I should cancel it.
