TMBG - “Minimum Wage” (hyaaah!)
There is a compilation album put out by Fat Wreck Chords called “Short Music for Short People” that is compiled of I believe 99 punk songs that all clock in at 30 seconds or under.
Ten Wheel Drive Peculiar Friends is a human sounds track by the band. No lyrics, unless you count, “ahoojabeebits.”
The Fugs, a track called (more or less) The Ghost Of Plontinius. “I’m in this for the sex, myself.”
On the same album, Teenage Haiku Contest is probably a little too long. “Do not tell me, I am source of your knockup. The mud elephant, wading through the sea, leaves no tracks.” Rather too long to be a haiku, too.
That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title. The shortest version on the iTunes store clocks in at 1:22, and the sample sounds crazy fast. I guess Chopin meant “minute” as in small, not “minute” as in “1 minute”.
Just remembered another song: Family Reunion by Blink-182 at 35 seconds. (Warning: SO NSFW or home, but still worth a listen)
Both the versions I have, on Who’s Afraid of the Art of Noise and on Daft clock in at 2:34. The song is rather repetitive, though. Maybe someone cut it down on a different release?
ETA: I know it’s a bit late to respond to this thread; I could have sworn I clicked the reply-via-email button…

Since this thread is still lurching around, I must add
Love & Kisses by Sam Phillips, at 0:57.
