Short Cut From Start Menu Is Gone

I have a program I run from my start menu. It’s nice to click

Start - Menu - And Run the Program.

But today for some reason the folder is in the start menu but the link is gone.

I can go to C - Programs - And the program is right there.

I suppose I could just right click on it and send it to the desktop as a shortcut but I like the Menu - Start - Start Menu way of doing it.

Short of uninstalling the program and reinstalliing it, is there anyway to fix it.

I have AVG and Malwarebytes and I ran a scan to make sure I have no viruses and it came back clean. So I don’t know why the program is gone from the start menu. Someone in my family probably deleted it by accident

Thanks

What operating system ado you use?

Easier than you think. If someone tries to click the mouse, but doesn’t let go of the button fast enough, it ends up dragggging whatever you had clicked on, and then you finally let go of the button, and the thing you were dragging could be anywhere. In your case, it may have ended up on the desktop, or maybe inside a different menu folder. Look around, and if you give up, try looking in the Recycle Bin.

This is a great start. You just saved me a lot of typing. I see now that you aren’t a total newbie, and I think you’ll understand the following:

First, create that shortcut.
Then right-click on the Start button, and select Explore.
You’ll now see your whole menu system laid out in a tree which you can edit and change. Each branch of the tree is another folder on your Start Menu. Click on Programs, and when you find a good place to put your new shortcut, paste it there!

Give it a try!
