Coool! I’m totally jealous, man. How did they do the melting nazis at the end?
Um, is this legal? Or was this one of the scenes which waited until they were 18?
Already gone. It was only three or four screenings this past weekend.
They had one melting Nazi and one exploding head Nazi. Not sure how they did it… the melting face scene is there, but not nearly as graphic. More impressive was the fight scene in Marion’s bar near the beginning, where more than one person gets set on fire.
The fight scene at the airport between Indy and the giant bald guy isn’t actually in the movie… they had cast it and everything, but for some reason couldn’t do it.

Well it’s not like they had sex on camera or something. The original movie is only PG to begin with. You just see the back of the girl playing Marion in a mirror taking off her top.
I can’t see Speilberg having a problem if they made money on it but I think Lucas might.
How did they finance this thing? And as someone else asked did the guy that played Indy age alot over the movie - I mean, that’s a period of huge growth spurts.
Jeez, the lighting on Indy’s face on that shot is almost perfect.
Amazing!
However, I once worked for a private summer school and the kids (ages 14-18) were given video cameras and came up with some cool stuff in a two week period (though, trust me - nothing on THIS scale!!!)
Add me to the list of people who will be waiting for this film to come out on DVD!
Hey, I got an idea…lets get some furry feet, a neat gold ring and some talking, walking trees and…
I got to thinking about this, and it doesn’t matter what Lucas thinks. Because Spielberg’s smarter than Lucas and if Lucas tries to sue these guys, Spielberg will “explain” things to Lucas. Legally, the kids who made the movie don’t have a leg to stand on, but if they get a halfway decent lawyer (assuming they were to be sued) he’d tell 'em, “Look guys, there’s no way you can win, but we can hurt the bastards real easy. All we have to do is raise a big stink and get tons of media coverage and the fanboys’ll do all the rest.” Think about it, don’t all of us wish that we had done this when we were that age? So if Lucas goes after these guys, he’s going after not only them, but all of our childhood dreams as well. Even Spielberg was smart enough to release an untouched version of E.T. on DVD, because he knows that some people prefer the movie that way. Lucas, of course, has the untouched versions of Star Wars locked away in a vault someplace, if he hasn’t destroyed the originals. Speilberg’s not going to go after these guys, except to make sure he gets some royalties from the DVD sales. I don’t think that Spielberg will let Lucas sue 'em, because he knows at that point, they’re screwed. I, for one, won’t give Lucas or Spielberg another dime of my money if they do sue. Even if Lucas releases the untouched Star Wars films in a desperate bid to win back fans, I won’t buy it. (Make myself a bootleg copy? Yep, probably.) I’m willing to bet that there’s a lot of other fanboys out there who’ll do the same.
(I imagine what’ll happen is that Lucas/Spielberg will work out a deal with the guys to release the film as a “bonus” DVD with Raiders of the Lost Ark when it comes out. At the very least, Lucas/Spielberg will be the ones to distribute the film. That’s what happened with Young George Lucas in Love.)
I would also think that including it as a bonus on the ROTLA DVD would actually help it sell more copies (I would buy one) thus increasing the coffers of Lucas and Spielberg. It would only make sense for them to do it, and only hurt them not to.
My thoughts exactly. I wouldn’t buy the original by itself on DVD, but if this was part of it, I’d be happy to shell out some cash for it. That trailer looks great.
Is anyone else thinking what Iam thinking? A movie about these kids and how they made this movie would in itself be worth seeing!
A heart jerker about growing up, about the magic of movies and dreams and the blood sweat and tears that go into it.
I was thinking the same thing. It would make a great story by itself…and that would be a great DVD to package the original film with.
