Shots fired at police officers at Dallas anti-police protest

I have several close friends in the Dallas area and I just found out that the brother-in-law of one of my friends was one of the victims.
The information I am getting 2nd hand is very confused and I am not going to try to get details from my friend at a time like this.
I am not sure if he was killed or injured but I think maybe he died in the hospital. I do not know his name.
I’m just saddened by this.

A related shooting in Tennessee:

He was troubled by the incidents, so he caused another one? That doesn’t make sense at all.

Given that it was a single shooter, and that it was obvious that there would be a police presence at the protest, I don’t think it takes a lot of planning to take your weapon and start shooting. The guy was a veteran and so I assume he knows how to fire this kind of weapon.

Question: when there’s a single shooter, and it’s initially reported as multiple, why does that usually happen? Pure heat of the moment panic? Echoing gunshots?

Confused witness reports. One witness says “short,” another witness says “tall,” because the terms are subjective, but when a cop or reporter puts them together, you have one short person, and one tall person.

I kept hearing and reading about three suspects in custody throughout the morning. Did that even happen and, if so, are they still in custody?

Conspiracy Theorists latch on this sort of muddled first reports; I wouldn’t be surprised if they are not already weaving a narrative of a false flag shooting based, in part at least, on this.

The police, or perhaps the media, misreported a lot of stuff. Like the bomb that was detonated. The shooter didn’t have a bomb, the robot brought one to detonate.

Oh, they started doing that immediately; just google Dallas + “false flag”.

These days the moment *any *shooting hits the news, that particular segment of the population is immediately crying “false flag”.

According to reports, the shooter told the negotiating team that he had planted bombs all over downtown. Although apparently none have been found at the site, he did havebomb-making materials in his home.

Just now, on CNN, something is going on in Dallas, the streamer says police HQ is on lockdown. Commentators are babbling on, something about inspecting the cars in the parking area, with police sinpers said to be on surrounding rooftops.

There was an anonymous threat, and they are searching a parking garage.

Also, a little more detail on the robot-delivered bomb:

The robot gave his life to end the siege. Hope he got a medal. Poor guy. RIP Robot

When the Robot Uprising happens, this will be one of their grievances. “You want me to do what?”

I really hope this doesn’t turn into a repeat of Friday.

Dallas Morning News published profiles of all 14 shooting victims and their families. It helps personalize the story behind the horrific video that we all saw.

My friend was Lorne Ahrens sister-in-law. She was with his wife ( her sister ) throughout that night and the next day. Heartbreaking.
