Should a Moderator be allowed a post party?

{said with a naturalist’s interest}: I’ve been waiting for a Brit poster to zing in something about “bleedin’ pricks”.}

Handy? Shaddup. Moderators and admins are no less “dopeizens” just because they’ve accepted the fame, riches and glory of keeping this place liveable.

Yes, I’m quite sure reading all the blather here with a responsible eye totally deadened them to any sense of community that lured them to join the asylum in the first place. Hey, those wild and crazy folks just wanna moderate cause it’s fun!. They enjoy being stoned to death with popcorn! Those control freaks prowl message boards in search of boards in search of order!

They’re Dopers, m’kay? Valuable voices and minds that lend themselves to keeping the goddamned board running. Why the hell should they be slotted as second-class citizens for serving? The post count thing is mostly a joke; the parties, the “newbies”, the whole enchilada.

Am I missing something or is this basically, humanly, functinally stupid and wrong?

Nope, you’re not missing anything. Post parties are just silly things to amuse ourselves and to pass the time. Why moderators shouldn’t be allowed to be silly and pass the time is beyond me.

I always wonder why people feel that because moderators move threads around to appropriate forums and keep their forums cleaned up, they (the moderators) are a different species or something.

I’d say they are the same as you and me, only a bit more giving (than I) because they are willing to spend their free time keep the board a great place to be.

Thanks, handy.

Should a moderator be allowed a post party?

Only if he does it in moderation.
