I look at the copies of the Florida ballot, and I see eenough presidential cadiates to choke a horse. Aside from the usual suspects, you had the Libertarians, the Reforms, the Greens, the Socialists - about eight candidates in all.
Here in NC, we just had the Dems, Repubs, Browne and Buchanan. Yes, no Nader. And also, NC doesn’t count write-in votes. Wasn’t even an option on the ballot, unlike in Florida.
Obviously, if the folks in Florida are voting with the NC choices, things are probably a lot fucking different.
If we do decide to keep the electoral congress, or a similar kind of system which places the decision towards states making choices instead of individual voters, shouldn’t we look into making the ballot restrictions more uniform in all 50 states?
