A better question might be “Should Canadian governments stop dealing with operational concerns in the delivery of health care and concentrate on supplying funding for health coverage; or should Canadian governments fund/operate and deliver health care themselves.”
I’m pretty much indifferent. If private insurance can cover what I need, why not? As a Canadian, I already pay for my dental insurance coverage through a private firm. I don’t think I’d mind paying extra for more health coverage as long as my paycheck deductions that are funding public health care fall at least a similar amount.
I would, however, like a safety net set up for the unemployed so they are covered, though.
My .02 (which I have not thoroughly thought out, but my from-the-hip response)
