Should Gaza be relocated? Where?

 The only nearby island is Cyprus. Which has ethnic/national problems of its own already, than you very much.

Give it a rest, BG. That’s not going to happen. You have a greater chance of turning the U.S. into a Muslim theocracy.

So what solution do you see, that does not require anybody to move? You know the Israeli settlers can’t remain in an independent West Bank, and there are too many of them to uproot-and-relocate even as easily as the Gaza settlers.

Why can’t they? You mean because it’s not possible for Jews to live among Arabs and vice versa?

Oops… guess the million Israeli Arabs don’t count for the purpose of this discussion. Or are you applying different logic to the geese and the ganders…? :dubious:

Give them Delaware. Then, Americans might finally start to understand what the issues are.

Most likely eventually Israel goes full bore ethnic cleansing/genocide and the Gazans are either forcibly driven out or exterminated. Israel is more and more turning into a Middle Eastern version of apartheid-era South Africa.

ahh…but it’s okay for the Gazans to forcibly drive out or exterminate the Israelis, right?. That’s not ethnic cleansing, that’s legitimate.

How does that differ from inhabitants of Israel who live in a fairy tail of an invisible, blond-haired, imaginary, blue-eyed God bequeathing them a strip of sand in the Middle East?

  • Honesty

And where exactly did you get that from what I said?

You have been informed, multiple times, that Zionism was a secular movement. If you knew anything about Israel, you would also known that the vast majority of Israelis are culturally Jewish and only nominally religious. You are, as per standard, posting nonsense about which you have chosen to remain ignorant of, since, the truth gets in the way of your worldview and causes, what was it you called it, “fictional complexity?” You are ignoring reality since it contradicts an overly simplistic narrative you would prefer to believe.

You should consider stopping that.

I don’t think that any country is going to give a section of their own land voluntarily to create “New Gaza”, so not only will some world organization be moving the settlers against their wishes without any authority to do so, it will first have to steal another country’s land.
How could this possibly go wrong?

Even if other Jews want the residents of Israel to remain where they are to continue to vex the Arabs, let’s say the world agreed they should be relocated, for their own sake, to a happier place to live and, hopefully, prosper without assistance.

Where do you suppose that could be?

I guess that’s why Israel dismantled all of the Gaza settlements a few years back and withdrew.

Probably not by much. However this is not Israel’s consensus view. Note that the UN Partition plan would have denied Jerusalem to the Jewish state. And yet the Jews accepted the plan anyway.

This is a really bizarre statement.

Have you ever been to Israel or even met any significant number of Jews?

What makes you say they’d imagine God to be “blonde-haired” and “blue-eyed”?

You are familiar with the events of WWII and why Jews would not want to imagine their God to look like an Aryan Superman aren’t you?

I think he was just going for a “ZOMG Zionazis!” sort of thing.

Look, suppose Palestine becomes independent. Israeli settlers on the WB, living in enclaves among neighbors who regard them as intruders, are no longer protected by the IDF. Do you seriously believe they’ll be safe there?

No, it’s moot. They already left, and they were not driven out.

Even couched in secular terms, imagining they have some superior hereditary historical claim to the land is no more rational than the sky-fairy thing.

The United States. They’ll be safe here. We can absorb that many immigrants and hardly notice them among the Mexicans.
