I’ve a well and septic on my own property. The water I use goes right back into my system and is recycled.
Sure, I pay for the electricity to get it out of the ground. And I don’t ‘waste’ water. No point in it.
What aggravates me is that living in the mountains that supplies Denver with water, I need a special permit to have an outside spigot on my house. While Denver waters golf courses.
Living where I do, it’s very important to have defensible space in case of wildfire. This is promoted by all agencies.
Keeping up with the defensible space is an on going process, and we are allowed to burn as long as the fire pit is no larger than 4 feet in diameter. But I can’t have a garden hose handy to make absolutely sure it does not get out of hand and drown the burn pit when I’m done.
What would it take to stop people from polluting rivers like the Ganges, killing a huge source of fresh water? Why do we expect them to find new resources, when they destroy the ones they’ve already got?
