Should I buy Batman: Arkham City?

Awesome game! In some ways, I thought it was better than the first. I played it on the PS3 and loved it. So,yeah, if you liked the first one, you are gonna like the second one.

Definitely get Arkham City, Anaamika! You won’t be disappointed! (And if you’re at all like me, you’ll probably play through AC more times than AA!)
Enjoy! They’re both masterpieces of game design.

And here I thought it was only me…
I’ve done a LOT of web surfing for how to avoid/fix this “Game Won’t Save” issue, but haven’t been successful.

I bought it over the weekend. I even started playing it. How do you get anything done? I keep getting distracted - look, more thugs to beat up! POW! SMASH! Oh, right, mission.

I did end up taking a little break from it as I have been playing Batman a lot lately, to play Dishonored, which I bought some time ago and haven’t played much yet. (I’m not always fond of the first-person perspective). I can really only see one playthrough for Dishonored, so after I beat that, I will go back to AC.

Thanks, guys!

I thought Arkham Asylum was okay, but once I finished it I had no real desire to go back and find a bunch of Riddler trophies (after I already picked all of the low-hanging fruit). Whereas in Arkham City, I thought there was lots of fun secrets and side quests to do even after the main story was finished.

Pretty Sure Arkham City did not use GFWL. Arkham Asylum did though, and yeah, that sucked.

The issue with me is that I do most of my gaming at work, which is at a remote location where we have a very slow satellite internet connection. Probably dial-up slow and not even 56k modem dial-up. It works okay for low graphics sites like this one, but any sort of sizable data transfers are impossible. Unlike Steam*, GFWL can’t be manually put into offline mode and it refuses to automatically do so if there’s even a hint of an internet connection. But on the slow-ass connection at work, it fails to log in virtually 100% of the time and that results in the saves getting corrupted. I think if I unplugged the network cable before I start the game it would work, but forget to do that once and… no saves for you!

*Although Steam has it’s share of problems with offline mode too, in that you have to be online to put it offline and sometimes it just sort of “forgets” it’s in offline mode and you have to log in again to put it offline, which is a bit of a problem if you’re 40 miles from the nearest broadband. Loathe though I am to say it, EA’s Origin digital distribution platform handles offline by far the best.

There were some rumors that it might not right before it came out but, alas, Arkham City does use GFWL.

Hmm, you’re right. Weird, I thought I would remember. Hate GFWL.

That’s actually the Riddler’s secret plan to beating Batman in the end.
He knows that every time the Caped Crusader goes “A citizen is in peril ! I have to… oh, wait, screw him, I just figured out that puzzle !”, a little bit more darkness falls over Gotham :stuck_out_tongue:

And there’s a lot more depth to City than Asylum. I never did finish that one side quest-the second part just never showed up. The guys on the roof by the frozen pool are hilarious.

I had trouble getting the second part of the

Identity Thief

side quest to show up, but I found it eventually. Is that the one you’re referring to?
