should i call the police?

Seconded. And better to do it sooner rather than later.

Reporting it couldn’t hurt. But, it could be that he was just being friendly. I take it that he seemed friendly? But, I would report it and watch your back too.

But, I don’t get the part where he wanted to take you somewhere to meet somebody. . . Did that relate to something you were talking about?

You didn’t want to go with him? Where’s your sense of adventure?

Sometimes I think I am the only one around here who wonders why people stand there and not only remain in but continue to engage the other person in these situations.

If someone needs directions or assistance, they will ask flat out with no prefacing the question. Which way is 10th Ave? Can you tell me where the R train is? Straight and to the point. Those are the people I answer.

Someone walks up with a spiel, a firm “not interested” after the first couple of words cuts them right off, and that’s if I couldn’t see it already coming from their body language. I don’t need to call the cops and report every idiot who tries to talk to me.

:stuck_out_tongue:

well i had one hand and my pocket and i was holding a knife in there . so i was ready if something took a turn for the worse

Be sure to repeatedly mention this to the police when you call them.

Is it just me, or does “dancing with God” sound suspiciously like the phrase “swimming with the fishes”?

 haha

yeah he started out friendly but then it got weird. he was not being clear about why he wanted to take me to meet someone. something about my car i think. he also said some other random odd stuff like his brother had a different dad then he did and that he did not know what street he lived on:dubious:

It sounds like the OP was stalling rather than actually considering accompanying the man. It was in his yard, and he certainly would not want the man following him towards the house.

The more I read, the more I wonder if the other dude is posting somewhere about his strange encounter.

I think you should call the police.

He was obviously distracting you so an accomplice could steal your shift key…
