Should minors have to have parental consent for abortion?

Ethically, yes, it’s trivial; right up there with getting a wart removed. It’s choosing to have a child that’s a major decision. Emotionally, of course, the consequences of abortion vary from woman to woman ( girl to girl in this case ).

That you even need to ask this question at this point in the discussion, forget this point in your life, means there is little to no point in my answering it. You are evidently of the opinion that the 30 minutes on (or not on) the table with instruments inside her is the overriding consideration. That is so utterly bizarre to me I am at a loss for a way to explain it to you that would make any difference.

Gosh, I also love it when someone makes a whole bunch of assumptions and then acts dismissive when people don’t come at this from the same place.

The overriding consideration to me is whether a life-saving operation is available to women who want it. Because it is her life, her well-being, her future that is on the line. She may attached particular importance to the operation, or not. Some women do. Some don’t. I don’t want women to choose a particular path; I want the medical treatments available whichever path she chooses. Having the “right” to have an abortion but not being able to access the medical care is no right at all.

So, I don’t know what your issue is or why you think being condescending helps your argument, but it doesn’t. It does help me lose all desire to keep talking to you, though, so you win the thread!

What thread are you in? Because this one was about whether minors should have to get their parent’s consent for an abortion, not whether abortion is safe, legal and available. Different discussions altogether. What I was remarking upon was entirely within the context of the question posed in this thread, as I thought your remarks were as well. And it is from that perspective that I found you reducing the entire question to a matter medical procedures bizarre, vs. choices being made for other people that would have enormous consequences on their entire lives in ways that have zero to do with matters “medical”.
