I suspect that Peterson (who is tenured and holds an endowed chair, i.e., pretty close to untouchable, and is also white, male, and presumably cisgender) made a principled decision to be the test case, purposefully picking the a text that is at the core of the western canon.

Forgive my cynicism, but no one is untouchable. Sadly.
