Many countries do. I think Mexico starts everyone at 4 weeks a year. CMIIW.
I assume that you are asking if the US federal government should require all employers to provide some minimum amount of paid leave to every employee? My answer to that would be no.
Accurate assumption. You get an A+ in reading, and a C- in policy making. I assume you mean you want each state to have it’s own plan.( If you mean not at all, then F.)
No, he means that he wants the terms of employment to (compensation & bebefits) be established and agreed upon by the employer and the employee.
I’m pretty sure I meant benefits. Or possible babyfits.
You put this in GD but that is not a debate by any stretch of the word. Why do you think the US should have mandatory vacation times? What is suffering now? What will be changed? How will we implement it? Why do we need another law? Why does it have to be a set number of days and not a law like “No less than…”
Please give us your viewpoint and then we can answer properly.
Care to give a reason why no vacation being mandated by the government is a bad thing?
Typically in great debates you don’t make fast friends simply by asserting an argument is wrong/bad then moving on without supporting that assertion with any manner of supporting argument.
Is this my first simulpost? Woohoo!
Pretty snide reply for someone who doesn’t know how to write an OP for Great Debates, or even mediocre debates. Had you framed an actual debate, I would have responded similarly to the suggestions of several other posters: I believe that the number of vacation days offered by an employer should be left for the employer to decide.
