Show the breadth of your music taste with 4 songs

I was wondering if that was a cover of The Clash’ song.

My four - I’m A Thousand Miles from Nowhere - Dwight Yoakam.

Jazz Odyssey 1 - Spinal Tap (sorry, I couldn’t find a video - you’ll have to iTunes it  ).

In Dulce Decorum - The Damned (Miami Vice Soundtrack).

Lost in The World - Kanye West and Bon Iver.

“At The Tone The Time Will Be…” by The Winston Psmith Project
“Mundy: O Mater Mundi” (Elizabethan Consort Music) by Jordi Savall
“You Turn Me Around” by Tandyn Almer
“Team Zissou” by Seu Jorge

The last four songs I listed to in my car or at work on Computer (what is this iPod thing you young whippersnappers refer to):

Holy Lamb - Yes
Right about now - Fatboy Slim
Running on Ice - Billy Joel
That’s not my name - The Ting Tings

The Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop
The Ramones - Beat on the Brat
The Ramones - Judy Is a Punk
The Ramones - I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend

So the breadth of your musical taste is black and slightly less dark black?

Ai Du, Ali Farka Toure

Naima, John Coltrane

Long Cool Woman, The Hollies

Corcovado, Getz/Gilberto

This would probably be closest to my tastes. I adore ELO. Have lots of soundtracks, and enjoy earnest 70’s easy listening like The Carpenters.

Last 4 on shuffle:
All Quiet Flows the Don (Don Tiki)
Glass of Wine (Dengue Fever)
I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) (Pitbull)
Je Suis Sourde (Paris Combo)

Libertango
The Essential Yo-Yo Ma with Antonio Agri, Hector Console Leonardo Marconi Nestor Marconi

Heart of Life
John Mayer

Wonderful
India Arie

Artificial Nocturne
Metric

On my phone:

Yonkers-Tyler the Creator
Shit Creek-Bad Livers (outlaw blurgrass)
Fanfare for the Common Man-Aaron Copeland
Breathe-Ministry

I was going for the least possible variation, as a joke, since the Ramones are viewed (by some) the band with the smallest range.

Coincidence, as I read this thread my grooveshark playlist played this very piece.
Wonderful stuff, I recall seeing this performed at the BBC proms concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. Even on TV the organ pieces almost ripped my face off and raised goose-bumps…brilliant.

Anyway, the three songs bookending that on my playlist are

“Baby I call hell” by Deep Valley
“we’re not goin’ to take it” by the Who
“Needles in the camel’s eye” by Brian Eno

Make of that what you will.

“The Crave” by Jelly Roll Morton
“Three Witches” by The Sword
“Lori Meyers” by NOFX
“Symphony No. 2” by Beethoven, but couldn’t tell you who performed it without looking

Had to cherry-pick a fair bit, as there are a lot of kid’s songs and documentaries in the way.
