John Wayne: Brave and taciturn hero in Lord knows how many movies—what was he doing from 1941 to 1945? Making movies! Hero? Only on the silver screen.
George W. Bush: Heroic in riding along for a carrier landing in 2003. He may have thought his duty to country required this sort of showboating. From 1965 to 1973 his sense of duty was somewhat different. I see the guy as a phony. He is going to have to do more than he has so far to change my mind. Not that he can hold a candle to William Jefferson Clinton in the phoniness category.
Besides what Brutus and december have already said I will offer this.
You say you are 34 years old. And still carry on like a little whiney bitch when someone disagrees with you. One might think that a first hand account from a neutral source (ie not Rush Limbaugh or Matt Drudge) might hold a little weight. I guess not.
As far as having my ass handed to me, not by a long shot. You will have to come up with a little more ammo than some lame as all fucking get out Inner Mind bullshit. That is without a doubt the most pathetic piece of shit cite I’ve seen.
Speaking of which…if that is your idea of playing with the big boys, then I guess a little ankle biter like you just gets to sit on the bench and pout when anybody says anything negative about Bill Clinton. You better get used to it. He’s not half the man as Hillary and when she runs for President we will get to re-live all those great Clinton memories. Ah the fun.
Spavined, you prick. You said that John Wayne thought the last thing he owed his country was serving it. Beside being a fucking jackass comment, you fucking jackass, it’s wrong. What was John Wayne doing during those years? Why, he was doing his part for the war effort. Just because what he was doing doesn’t qualify in your fucking nasty stupid jackass bigoted and absolutely mistaken similitude of a mind does not equate to it not being him doing his part.
John Wayne made The Green Berets, the most fulsomely revolting propaganda extravaganza ever. A man does not honor his country by aiding it in an dishonorable endeavor.
“…The ship was slowed so Bush could spend the night on board before it docked on Friday, officials said. He watched dozens of fighters roar off the ship one last time on the way to home bases.”
Home in bed with the wife/husband? Why when you can be on a boat in the water listening to jingoistic drivel?
Actually, the John Wayne-related paragraph in Spavined Gelding’s post was as follows:

Considering that he is specifically talking about people running the country, it’s likely that the remark in the final sentence was intended to refer to Bush and Rumsfeld, not Wayne.
Monty, I thought you were defending the President. I had no idea you were springing to the defense of John Wayne, the actor. It certainly is a good thing that I didn’t accuse the President et al of putting on a Lash LaRue act. In the John Wayne context your comments make some sense. He was of course no Jimmy Stewart.
Just curious, but if you were a Islamic extremeist/terrorist, and you found a genie’s lamp, and the genie appeared to grant you one special wish…
…and the genie asked, " I give you one wish: Would you, Mr Terrorist, like to choose to have a republican in office in the United States or a Democrat in office? Choose wisely."
Even for you, this sort of lying is pretty low. Care to rephrase this into something that, I’m sure, will be equally dismissive, but at least factually honest?
