I’m fairly certain that she used a compound bow. The video and her comments make that clear. The text of the article attached to the video refers to a crossbow. I think that’s probably just ignorance on the part of the author.
I’ve seen this before. People not familiar with modern archery tackle often think that a compound bow is a crossbow at first glance.
Plenty of antis don’t know a single hunter or anything about hunting. That ignorance doesn’t stop them from having a opinion.
Are you trying to tell me about hunting?
You know that certain types of hunting use dogs or bait, right?
If you go duck hunting, is it not “fair chase” to have a retriever?
If you want to walk into the woods and look for a black bear without dogs or bait… Good luck. You wouldn’t get one in a lifetime of trying. Bait and dogs are used because it’s the only way to be successful, and it’s far from guaranteed.
I find it odd that any guy suffering from gynecomastia would lie down next to a giraffe neck sandwich? It’s obvious from his smile that he intends to kill and eat the photographer.
And what’s up with the Charlie Brown shirt-stain on the giraffe sausage?
Thoroughly enjoyed this post, thank you. As obvious as this sounds, I just had that tiny light bulb in my brain that went, “Gee, guess some of these hunters might only be happy about completing a good challenge, rather than gloating over their new trophy.”
It’s more of a case of just you should avoid LHoD. He beat you like a gong in this discussion. I’d say you should bow out while you still have your dignity, but…too late. “Keep my name out of your fucking mouth?” Really? Really? What are you, 12 years old? Did you have your best gangsta expression on when you typed that?
Pose all you want. If you decide to take pictures and put them on the Internet don’t be surprised when people find it objectional. If people do object getting all self righteous about it probably isn’t going to help your defense. Ignore the haters and move on.
I don’t like Ricky Gervais. I didn’t know who this lady was till this tread. I now don’t like her either. I don’t think either person is really in the wrong. Ricky comments were not horribly offensive nor did were they enciting violence towards her. Ricky should probably ask his fans not to send death threats now, but it’s not his fault they did to begin with.
If people want to gun down animals there is no shortage of whatever. It doesn’t bother me nor does it impress me.
Totally bro. But personaly I prefer to ram animals with my SUV rather than gunning them down. I had a special grill guard fitted. It’s a bitch to clean. People seem impressed by the pictures though, so it all works out.
First of all, I never said all hunters, it was specific to people who enjoy killing for the sake of killing.
Second, is not relating to someone judging them? Did you miss the post where I said it’s the way we are wired so there is no defense required? Did you miss the post where I said I don’t indulge in online shaming, or doxing, and don’t seek out people like that to vilify? That isn’t enough? Should I instead go out of my way to form close relationships with people I don’t relate to to prove I’m not judgemental? Pretend I feel the same way so I don’t hurt their feelings? If that’s your definition of judgemental, then we are all guilty of it for one reason or another.
I’m not the only person who feels this way in this thread, and you’re not the only one with a different reaction. People are different, and acknowledging that isn’t attacking them. Attacking them for being different is something else, and I said specifically I wasn’t on board with that.
So what justifies my being attacked in this thread? And why just me, and not the others who feel the same way? Where is the dishonesty and the backpedaling and the goal shifting I was accused of? If your example above is the best you can come up with, then yes, I’m sure anyone* who reads it will see the attacks were baseless.
*let’s change it to anyone without an agenda of their own or conflicting loyalties to the involved parties. We’re only human, after all.
I see you’re a fan of the same dishonest tactic of proclaiming something to be true without providing a shred of evidence. Say it often enough and maybe people will believe it, right?
So, you’re excusing subsistence hunters. And including the vast majority of people hunters from developed nations, who hunt not for survival, but just because they like hunting.
No, that’s not judging them. “They’re not as empathic as I am,” on the other hand, is absolutely and unequivocally judging people.
Yeah, not clear on how that idea makes it better. You’re basically dehumanizing people because you don’t approve of their hobby: they just broken by nature, the poor things, and can’t help what they do.
When you were asking earlier about when you’d been condescending in this thread? Right there is a prime example of it.
You’re bragging that you don’t break the law? Good for you. I, personally, have never tracked someone down and set fire to their house because we got in an argument on the internet. Do I get a cookie for that?
Or just not be a prick about it on the internet. That’s always an option.
“Just you?” Get over yourself. You’re hardly the only person who’s taken a little stick in this thread.
