I was just thinking about this. I was wondering what would happen if some sort of virus or nanotechnology were created which stopped all cells in the human body from dividing and repairing themselves, but didn’t affect any other functions the cell performs.
Let’s ignore if this were possible, why someone would do it, and how it could happen, let’s just say that it’s possible for the sake of imagination.
What would the possible effects be? Where would you see the effects first? How would a person likely die?
You’d probably die first of blood/circulatory issues, in particular red/white blood cell problems as they wore out, and bleeding issues, as tears in blood vessels could not mend, and presumably, no new clotting agents would be available.
Thanks, cerberus. That’s really interesting, so the symptoms might appear similar to being a haemophiliac (of course not solely haemophiliac like symptoms)?
Also, no one else has any other input? I’m guessing from silence that the rest of you are in concordance and agree with what cerberus wrote?
