How far would NASA go to get off today’s launch? Can we really trust that the fuel gauge problem was really fixed? It almost sounds like NASA would accept a stuck fuel gauge (or, signal error) just to get off a launch. What if two fuel cells had failed this time? Is that accpetable?
Also, if something caused Discovery to be scrubbed, could NASA have the Atlantis Shuttle on stand-by? Or, is there a presumption that the same failure (whatever it may be) might plague both shuttles?
