They didn’t in 2008 and that was the last time they chose. A streak of one in a row doesn’t really establish a trend.
It goes further downballot too. What happened to Eric Cantor and many other GOP officeholders just can’t happen in the Democratic Party.
You mean being replaced by insane, incompetent radicals?
I dunno, “land of the free” comes to mind…
Tell us when *that *happened.
Is that how you admit being wrong?
The facts (yes, those again) do support that claim.
Tell us when *that *happened. It certainly wasn’t this time, when you used to brag about your “deep bench”, remember that?
Oh wait, you’re admitting you can’t come up with good candidates anymore, aren’t you? That’s what you think “the matter at hand” is. Okay, tell us why that is - is it because of your claim that your party’s voters won’t choose them anymore, or that they no longer exists?
Then tell us why you still vote for them.
did you…
Chuck Todd lists TEN significant political “whiplash” events for this week, including the medical crap, the pneumonia crap, the Trump Foundation investigation by the NY AG.
did he bother to mention the Bondi Bribery Scandal?
can one imagine what he would have made of that story if Hillary had been accused of that?
how much time did they spend on the ‘optics’ of the CGI pay-for-play scandal, using that word without quotes?
Michael Steele praises, during the discussion, Trump’s political acumen, claiming he has his finger on the pulse of the nation’s sensibilities…that’s why he’s rising in the polls. Not one of the four ‘experts’ have mentioned the media role in all this. Instead Chuck Todd said, as I type this, that, for the first time, he thinks Trump has a chance to win.
not one mention of what a clearly serially mendacious bullshit artist he is, incapable of telling the truth in almost any circumstance. they just ignore that overriding characteristic, choosing to continue the normalization of, take your pick/mix and match: malignant narcissist, sociopath, megalomaniac, pathological liar…the list goes on. see the thread here, in which the various possible mental dysfunctions which describe his warped personality are discussed
this really needs to be made the central focus of the campaign against Trump, because once it becomes a constant source of discussion, there’s no way he’s going to be able to handle being called any sort of psychological misfit. when one compares his mental health to the insanely overwrought reaction to the totally Swiftboat-inspired fabrication of Hillary’s supposed physical infirmity, the reality of Trump’s mental state is clearly more a relevant factor in the election than another ginned up lie about Hillary, as fragile a candidate as she may be.
I’m not sure the media considers it their job to call out a candidate for being a bad guy. Sure, they get pissed off when he flim-flams them as he did today, but otherwise, most of them seem to want to stay away from outright calling Trump a nutcase and a serial liar.
A media pundit tweeted some opinions a few days ago that suggest the media likes highlighting stuff in the public domain but has issues with highlighting competitors’ work, which may explain why things like the Newsweek article on Trump’s possible business conflicts didn’t get much spotlight by other media
Yeah, I do think the media is not doing enough to make it evident Trump’s proposed policies are mostly nonsense, that he doesn’t have the temperament to be President, and that he’ll rip up our alliances. I’m not sure they see that as their job, but then why do political reporting at all if not to highlight problems?
