As I was buying silhouette targets at a gun shop, the owner casually remarked that standard, black silhouette targets were illegal in Florida because of the racist implications, and targets there were red or blue.
Now, this sounds silly, but sadly, it also sounds plausible, with some of the ridiculous laws on the books along these lines.
Is there any truth to that whatsoever?
I have fired on black silhouettes in Florida in the last four years, as well as nice, full color ones of a certain guy. I have not seen any red ones, or blue ones. Sounds like a load of bull to me. Not worth searching the Florida Statutes, in my opinion.
The “official” Texas Department of Public Safety Concealed Handgun Test Targets are blue but I still see the black ones around (and Osama, Saddam etc.).
It sounds like (semi plausible) BS to me.
Unclviny
Official FBI Q targets are grey, Treasury Department targets are green-shaded, etc. It’s easier to see a hole in a color other than black.
I order targets online, and I have never seen a ‘Forbidden in Florida’ disclaimer. Sounds untrue to me.
