Do any animals other then humans whisper?
I imagine the only ones that might would be other great apes but the closest I’ve seen on TV is very quite hooting, not actual whispering. Thank you.

Whispering i a form of talking. Humans are the only animals that talk as we know it, and so we are the only animlas that whisper.
If you’re asking if other animal’s use softer than normal sounds to cimmnicate, then yes, almost every land animal whispers.
Well many animals use vocalizations to communicate with other members of their species, or even outside I guess. Do they ever find themselves in situations where the need to be quite causes them to go through the motions of vocalizing without actually using their vocal cords or making any sort of whistle like sounds.
So maybe like a chimpanzee mother making a sound similar to an aspirated H to calm her infant down when there are predators about. Do things like that happen.
WAG, but some species of pack hunters probably have a form of short range communication similar to what we do when whispering - a lower pitched growl, or body language.
damn!
i finally thought i’d find out what the silliest animal was.
sigh
my vote goes to any cat that pretends it hasn’t just fallen
I’m having a hard time thinking of any warm blooded land animal that doesn’t whisper. Dogs use low growls as a warning when they don’t wnat to attarct attention. Cat’s use a low mewling when trying to subtly call kittens. Female gorillas use repressed copulatio sounds (the ape equivalent of 'Oh my God) when cheating. Roosters use a special soft warning call when they see a predator.
I think a better question would be: do any land animals not whisper?
