What was “Little Red Riding Hood”'s surname?
Hood? Riding Hood? What?
For that matter what was her first name?

Since she’s fictional, and was only ever referred to by a description, I’m going to say she doesn’t have a name.
Alexandra Fedorovna Smirnova.
Rover.
Ironically, her name was Lupe. Lupe Riding Hood.
No, it’s never Lupe.
It has to be mentioned: Ladle Rat Rotten Hut: Exploratorium Exhibit.
*On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There were fallen trees and stumps with rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky was full of clouds
The heat was wet and the ground was soft
But the air was full of sound
I’ve been through the forest for a girl with no name
It felt good to be out in some rain
In the forest you can’t remember her name
'Cause no ones there (with the exception of game)
La, la-la, la-la-la-la-la! La, la-la, la-lah!
After two days in the forest sun,
My skin began to get pale,
After three days in the forest fun
there was a storm that dropped some hail.
And the ice? It dropped and it bounced and it popped
All over the trees, up and down that trail…
I’ve been through the forest for a girl with no name
It felt good to be out in some rain
In the forest you can’t remember her name
'Cause no ones there (with the exception of game)
La, la-la, la-la-la-la-la! La, la-la, la-lah!
After nine days I let the horse run free
'Cause Grandmas house I could plainly see.
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There were fallen trees and stumps with rings
A cabin is a house made of trees fallen down
And a perfect disguise above
Granny… said go get some sand & go pound
Because No Basket just means No Love…!
I’ve been through the forest for a girl with no name
It felt good to be out in some rain
In the forest you can’t remember her name
'Cause no ones there (with the exception of game)
La, la-la, la-la-la-la-la! La, la-la, la-lah!*
Ima Wolfsnakz
That is just too cool! And so apropos.
Is this an original of yours? If not, can you link to the source? It ought to fit the tune well enough.
:laughing smilie we don’t have:
Ladle Rat Rotten Hut, of course.
Just Hood, I think. She was Robin’s little sister.
America: A Horse with no name. I very much liked that song when it was new, and have some fond memories…
Ladle Rat Rotten Hut - been a while
Missy was a bit of a wayward child. Her great grand daughter wrote a nice reference- in the volume Women Who Run With The Wolves. Her surname, therefore, was Pinkola. The first name is debatable, as some remember her as Sissy, rather than Missy, but it was very likely Clarissa.
LRRH had to have survived, thanks to the woodcutter (I prefer logger) and is possibly an ancestor of my grandchildren.
Perhaps it should be “Azaria Chamberlain”…
I just want to point out that one of the nice little things about the name “Little Red Riding Hood” is that when you say it out loud, it has a nice musical rhythm to it.
In other languages, it just doesnt work…
For example, in Hebrew, her name is simply :“Red Cap”.
It just ain’t the same.
Does anyone else have this songrunning through their heads?
I’ve never seen it anywhere else, but I read I lot of Gary Larson comic strips back in the day. Does that count…?
Of course. Is that a Larson concoction? It’s new to me, beyond the obvious connection with A Horse With No Name - America (Lyrics)
Its original; I can probably knock one off every 15 minutes.
Its one of a thousand talents that I can’t earn a nickle with.
