Fucking awesome!
OK guys, well I have only been here reading since Oct. but I am glad to see others admit bad moderating here, I think maybe I did not follow just what the “Fighting Ignorance” motto was about, I never thought till recently it was the mods being talked about, now your post would seem to verify this. Thanks. and yes it is funny as well, the best jokes have truth in them.
OK, so stay out of GQ and all is well, in general anyway for opinions. IMHO was once moderated to have only one side but is better now, maybe. OK, got that too.
It’s true that for years this site had some unbelievably shitty mods. But that’s all in the past now.
Actually, the moderating here is pretty decent. Some of the *rules *are, IMO, deeply stupid, but there’s not a lot the staff can do about that. They do what they can with what they have, and most of the mods seem reasonably open to reconsidering decisions (e.g. about closing or moving threads)–which is not to say that they’ll always *agree *with you when you take exception to something, but it will at least get looked at.
I never thought I’d say this, but Silverstreak Wonder is making andrewdt sound like Einstein. (Not nearly as hyper as that kid, though)
New life goal: to put **Silverstreak Wonder **and **curlcoat **in a pit and make them “debate” while I charge others money to watch.
I can’t see how it would be interesting because no matter what either of them type all I ever seem to get out of it is “mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi…”
You have to imagine them arguing using only that syllable in squeaky muppet voices for maximum effect.
Well, I already strongly suspect that **Silverstreak Wonder **has someone’s hand up his ass, so that’s not too far of a stretch.
Thanks, shot.(re post 104) Considering most are not paid, I don’t see why they have to make so much trouble for themselves then. It is not like their family depended on the job and the mean boss makes them do mean things too. They are making the trouble.
I sure bet the real owners do not want all this trouble anyway, just long discussions where we might see some ads and more posters, not driving posters away as they do. So what if someone gave an opinion in GQ, how is anyone harmed? I see lots of opinions in GQ and here they pretend there is nothing but facts there, now who looks silly? (not me).
Thanks for the insight and I will try to be more careful of these evil people and their ways. I think the owners said it all when they established ATMB and the PIT, they want discussions and they sadly expect some bad moderation because the no salary is going to attract people with bad egos and they hope those forums will keep that in check to some degree.
Even if you’re not trolling, this is probably not the right site for you.
Hmmmm. Your name looks familiar. Didn’t you used to be a mod at some point in the past?
I’m not sure, this guy has a bushy mustache and glasses. A quick experiment should solve this, but where can we find a 13 year old girl at this time of day?
Who’s a noob?
Who, indeed?
At least I’m young enough to push your wheelchair. Can I get you started down this steep hill?
Just to give you a hint, we mean “Fighting against Ignorance”, not “Fighting in favor of Ignorance” or “Fighting by means of Ignorance”. It’s a pretty standard usage in English, in my experience, but I suppose I can see how some would be confused.
Weeeee (video link, possibly considered perverse and subversive)
Isn’t there a rule in place that if 90 percent (or so) of all a person’s posts are complaining about the board that they should be banned?
Especially if said person starts doing so right off the bat?
Well, they are pretty big words.
