First of all, I love S&G. But I remember once hearing one of their songs and saying to my wife “that’s their only love song that’s not depressing.”

And she replied “oh? The title is ‘For Emily WHENEVER I MIGHT FIND HER.’”

So his only positive love song was about someone he HOPED he might meet…

Ah, but great songs.

Iguana, “For Emily” is about a dream, and when Garfunkel wakes up, he finds his beloved is right beside him.
