Simple Smart Phone question

I bought a Blackberry Storm about 2 weeks ago. My first ‘smart’ phone. I have had some problems, but for the most part I have gotten them straightened out. Admittedly, some (not all) was user error.

Anyway, instead of calling tech support again, I thought I would ask you folks.

What the heck operating system would this be using? I’m not finding it under system options anywhere.

Typing “Blackberry OS” into Google returns this as the second hit: BlackBerry OS - Wikipedia

So it looks to be a propriatary OS developed by RIM. Not Windows Mobil. Or other software. Would that be correct?

Yes.

Somewhere in the options it should give you your system software version. On my work blackberry, it’s under options, and about. The first few lines are:

Blackberry™ 7290
Wireless handheld (GPRS)
v4.1.0.377 (Platform 1.8.0.154)

So I’m on BlackberryOS 4.1.0

It’s in the same place on the storm. Storm runs on BBOS 4.7.0.75. enipla if you haven’t done the OS update for the storm yet, do it. The update helped with a bunch of the bugs, and there is theoretically a new update coming before the end of the month.

Thanks, already done. Desktop too. (The phone alerted me when the update was available).
