Here’s a fun little 20 Questions game where you can see if the computer can guess a person, place, or thing from The Simpsons. Not only that, it’s an OFFICIALLY LICENSED game. That’s gotta be worth something, right?
And it does have a lot of obscure characters and things in there- not that it knows them: it took around 30 questions to get Handsome Pete, and it got Inanimate Carbon Rod in around 12. Just for fun, I decided to see how much it would take to get Sideshow Raheem, who was mentioned in the Entertainment Weekly article I cribbed this from. It couldn’t get it in 30. Have fun. (Sideshow Raheem: I wouldn’t!)
Hmm I tried it for Helen Lovejoy, and her name first popped up on the think tank right at question 20, but then it kept asking (the first guess was Agnes). After asking if I talked a lot (#23) it guessed correctly. Not bad.
My second try was Allison Taylor, whose name first appeared on the think tank at question 7, and was guessed on 20!
It got Lard Lad Donuts in exactly 20 questions but was thrown off in that other people taught it Lisa and Marge would not like to go there, I said maybe for both- I don’t recall either ever taking an anti-donut stance.
The games on 20q are like that a lot…people teach them stupid things.
It failedc to get Maggie’s Pacifier, because it kept asking irrelevant questions (‘are you male?’), but it got the nuclear power plant in 17 and Homer’s Blue Pants in 14.
I beat it with International Harvester Spuckler. It seems that others that have used that gave really bad info. Such as that IV Spuckler has senior moments.
I stumped it with Jack Larson, president of Laramie Cigarettes. But I did confuse it with the question “do you cheer people up.” I said sometimes, the “correct” answer is no.
And I stumped it completely with Otto’s tattoos (as in, it wasn’t even in the databse.)
I thought you said it was a Unknown, 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is Thing.
Are you religious? You said Maybe, 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is No.
Do you and Bart get along? 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is No.
Are you soft? You said Irrelevant, 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is Yes.
Do you have a sense of humor? 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is Yes.
Do people laugh with you? 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is Probably.
I don’t know how you would call the space coyote a thing since as a hallucination, it doesn’t really exist. I generally would have called it religious since it is really a spiritual image, besides it was Johnny Cash. I’m pretty sure I decided that whether or not Bart and the space coyote got along was irrelevant since they never meet. I may have said unknown. Same with the question of softness, since as far as I know it couldn’t be touched, so whether it was soft was irrelevant. I didn’t know if the space coyote had a sense of humor because I couldn’t remember if it laughed or told a joke. Same with the question of laughing at it.
The 20Q main page also has some interesting licensed Star Trek and Disney games. The Disney one especially has given me some interesting food for thought based on some of my choices (such as “Can Hannah Montana climb trees,” “Can you put things into Walt Disney himself,” “Why is Walt Disney a thing and not a person,” and “Why aren’t the aliens from Toy Story on the list?”).
I tried Tibor, but then I quit when I realized that I had to answer “unknown” to nearly every question. I guess his character was not fleshed out very well. Maybe next season.
I did Stephen Hawking and it guessed in 20 Q. There were some conflicts though.
Do people laugh at you? You said Rarely, 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is Probably.
Have you spent the night in jail? 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is No.
Are you a troublemaker? You said Sometimes, 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is No.
Do you have the patience of Marge? 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is No.
Are you a gud spelr? 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is Yes.
Do you and Bart get along? 20Q was taught by other players that the answer is Probably.
I figured they didn’t laugh at him a lot, he isn’t a comedian though I am aware he has a sense of humor. I have no idea if he spent a night in jail in his youth so I just said I didn’t know. I’d say he could be a trouble maker among other scientists with all his grand theories and such. I have no idea how patient Stephen Hawking is. I have no idea if he is a good speller, some scientists are abysmal spellers. Why would anybody say that Bart and Stephen Hawking would get along, they haven’t met as far as I know.
