Lovejoy: But surely the Lord can overlook such a technical…
Parson: No, he can’t!
Actually I think it was even better - the line went something like “I’m sure the Lord is understanding-” “No, He isn’t!”
I disagree, there are tons of ideas that they’ve never done. For instance, they’ve never had an episode that revolved around the cat, yet they’ve had TWO episodes where the dog has fathered babies.
They’ve never had an episode about Carl or Lenny. If the writers can’t think of ideas then why not hire NEW writers?? Why pay all that money for the writers to give us Homer and Marge fight for the upteenth time.
Also Gilligan’s Island did the “they’re not really married” routine, Green Acres did the “they’re not married because Mr Druker didn’t send in his license renewel”, I Love Lucy did the “they’re not really married” (thought that was because the name was mispelled)
I bet half this board could come up with new ideas.
There was an episode a few years ago where the cat was killed. In fact, several cats were killed before Lisa wound up adopting one that looked just like the old one. (Okay, the ending sucked.) There was another B-story where the cat found a new family, although that was a quick one.
They’re not interesting.
Oh man are you kidding? I LOVED that ending…
Lisa: I will call you Snowball IV
Skinner: Isn’t that a little generous with its name? (I messed this line up, but the idea is there)
Lisa: I dunno. Is it Principal Tamzarian?
Skinner:…carry on Lisa…Snowball IV
Yup, that was the ninth episode of season 15, “I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot.” Actually, I thought the ending was quite clever.
Lisa names the cat “Snowball V,” but decides to leave “Snowball II” on the cat’s bowl and pretend the whole episode never happened. Principal Skinner, who is just strolling by, overhears her and says, “Isn’t that sort of cheating?”
Lisa replies, “I guess you’re right, Principal Tamzarian.” Skinner then mutters, “Nice kitty,” and continues walking.
