Simpsons hits new low in syndicated episode timing!

Ex-parrot?

Oh, sorry. Wrong thread.

For sheer caught-up-in-current-events-irony, I’m reminded of a 1993 Seinfeld episode (“The Masseuse”) in which Elaine’s current boyfriend is a nice guy, but has the name “Joel Rifkin”, the same as a serial killer. At one point in the episode, Elaine tries to convince him to change his name, even suggesting “O.J.” as an initials-only alternative.

After all, we wouldn’t want Elaine dating a murderer would we?

As for crashing the rocket into the White House and killing the President, lighten up, already. By your hypersensitve logic, all copies of the “Wizard of Oz” should be burned because nowadays were are so much more aware of the sensibilities and social contributions of dwarves… err… little people… err… the veritcally challenged.

Because of the events of Spetember 11th, we must ban all movies, television shows, books, and other media featuring the following:

Crashing airplanes
The World Trade Center
Terrorists
Boxcutters
Anything remotely critical of the US government
Airplanes not crashing
New York City
Whichever side of the Pentagon that got hit
The other four sides
Large buildings exploding
George W. Bush speaking to schoolchildren
Carrot Top (this is not related to WTC, it’s just a good idea)
Any fireman doing anything non-heroic
The sky

You’re going to change your name to Speaker for Those With an Extended Lack of Pulse? Man, that’s going to screw with the coding.

Great – that leaves nothing but reruns of The Wombles and Prisoner in Cell Block H. I foresee a sharp rise in book sales.

i fully agree.

I can’t beleieve no one threw this one out yet.

You mean they aired an episode that in some way, with the aid of a rather large logical leap, may have remotely evoked the events of 9/11?!?!

What about the children!

Won’t someone please think of the children!

So, this is what it’s like when someone loses their tenuous grip on reality. HELLO … it’s a friggin’ cartoon.

Bart Simpson - No! Lets tell people who’s opinions actually matter!

since this thread has been derailed Im reporting in merely to increase my post count.

You know, in retrospect, I bet those poor, doomed passengers were breathing on September 11th. I think we should all stop breathing out of respect for those who lost their lives that day.

And, since it was people who died, then “people” should not be shown on TV anymore. TV should only be allowed to show stock footage of the following subjects:

-Grass growing
-Paint drying
-Water evaporating (although this one might be a little controversial, so children won’t be allowed to watch)
-Dust settling
-The sun rising… and setting
-Underpants

woohoo! ‘dustsettling 1’ is holding one of their 24 hour dust-settling marathons! i ain’t coming in to work today!

Ummm Spoofe…I believe dust settled over the WTC you heartless bastard. Why don’t you show a little respect?

Our local station gets into recycling ruts, showing the same few episodes over and over each weekend. (Esp. the “Tomaco” one.)

One of these is the “Boy Band” episode where Lt Smash (?) steals an aircraft carrier for the purpose of destroying the Mad Magazine building in NYC. To see an episode where a NYC building gets destroyed over and over and over is kinda weird.

If it was shown just on occasion, that would be fine.
