On Tuesday, March 12th, again 6 months (and one day) after 9/11, NYC gets the episode where Homer goes into space. And where he refers to “Barney-let’s-crash-the-rocket-into-the-White-House-and-kill-the-President Gumble.”
Maybe this was funny when they made it, but I don’t think it should be shown anymore.
I agree with everyone so far (though I think the troll comment is a bit extreme).
Annie-Xmas, I see what your saying but I do not think that we need to censor older tv shows and movies due to the events of 9/11. I think if the episode was made today the creators probably would not have written that line in however it was written well before 9/11.
We must form an online petition protesting the airing of all vaguely controversial episodes of television programs on the anniversaries (or dates with similar numbers in then) of national tragedies. Problem solved!
Today’s episode of the Simpson’s had Maggie in it! don’t they know i don’t have children yet? What a slight by Matt Groening! And Homer and Marge being married, what an insult to us singles! I say remove all episodes where there are children and the parents are married, otherwise i’ll file a class action lawsuit!
I have to agree with everyone else. Calling this episode ‘offensive’ in any way is a little (read as: extrmely) extreme. I hope that you are merely joking, Annie-Xmas.
That’s nothing…last night here they showed the episode where Bart got to go on a ride-along with the police. They were sideswiped by a speeding Snake and said “Let’s roll!”
It’s shameful the way they’d exploit the phrase “let’s roll” like that!
